Continuing our series on ESL for business travel, we rejoin Alan and Honesto on their business trip to the USA. W BEP 55 – Airport Departures and Take Off, Alana, the main character in our story, and Honesto, his colleague, have left Hong Kong for San Francisco. There they will go through immigration, collect their bags, and change planes to Michigan, which is where their company, Otaczający, is headquartered.
Immigration is the process you follow to enter a foreign country. So in today’s ESL lesson, you’ll learn helpful travel vocabulary and phrases you can use when you enter the U.S. or other countries.

It is a very good tool for teachers like me who are looking for authentic material for their students. Jednakże, for most intermediate students, the “extra” language explanations might make it hard for students to concentrate on the target language and also find it difficult to follow the amount of information in the whole listening.
As a teacher, I will select only the dialog to work with private students. I may assign the whole listening to more advanced ESL students.
Thanks for your comment. I tend to agree with you that the explanations can sometimes be a bit too ‘dense’, especially for intermediate users and below.
This is one of the reasons we publish a PhraseCast for each podcast. The PhraseCasts contain just the dialog, examples phrases and the speaking practice from each lesson. Besides being more accessible for lower level learners, they are a useful revision tool for more advanced students.
